Daniele Ietri is Policy Associate in Economic Development, and full professor of Geography at the University of Bolzano, Italy. His research is focused on the study of urban and regional competitiveness and the elaboration of local development policies, with a focus on inner/internal and peripheral areas. He is also a documentarist: in 2013 he founded La Fournaise (lafournaise.it), a group of researchers and filmmakers that has been producing documentary films screened in festivals, theatres and events. He ideated and coordinates “Studi sul Qui” (studisulqui.it) and the deep_map_lab (deepmap.projects.unibz.it), laboratories for the study and representation of the contemporary in “inner” and “peripheral” areas. He is Research Director of the ‘Regions’ research programme at 89 Initiative.
